建具屋の考案した椅子になります。 座面を一枚板とかではなく若干高さのある薄めの組子を規則的に並べて線を面にした意匠にしてみました。 建具屋に特化した組子切り欠き用クデ切り機を作って拵えた建具業にしかできない加工になっております。 日本で一番使われている針葉樹を用いました。 杉とサワラ材　サワラ材は水に強く軽さもあり今回の意匠にぴったりなので選んでみました。 本来なら隠すはずの木口を大胆にも逆に際立たせた意匠になっております。平らに仕上げるのではなくわざと凸凹を付けてメリハリを出しました。 あといろいろ発展性のある横茂で組まれた座面で座布団やクッションを乗せれば多彩のバリエーションが期待できる作りになっております。 シンプルかつ存在感のある純和風なテイストにデザインされております。
This is a chair invented by a joiner. Lining a bit high kumiko (thin wooden boards) systematically to make a seat rather than just making it with a single board, and we have offered it for design application. The work applying a cutting device specialized for a joiner can only be done by a decent joinery. The material woods are coniferous trees which are used the most in Japan. I picked Cedar and sawara cypress materials for this design because they are light and durable against water, which I found quite suited for this time. This design has the wood joint parts which are normally supposed to be hidden stand out remarkably, and intentionally make roughness on its surface rather than making it neatly flat. Putting a cushion on its seat assembled with developable horizontal timbers make it possible to give it various tastes. This is designed simply with the taste of outstanding pure Japanese style.
